A group of tech experts and designers over at Silicon Valley have pushed the envelope further when it comes to travelling. Welcome to the era of the “smart” luggage, brought to you by start-up company Bluesmart. Its brainchild, the Bluesmart, promises to “empower travelers, making the world a smarter, more connected planet.”
How Smart is the Bluesmart?
You can control a Bluesmart using your smartphone via an app, which also lets you tap into the luggage’s other special features.
Trip Data Tracking
Bluesmart comes with trip data tracking, which allows you to take a peek into your travelling habits (where you’ve been, how many miles you’ve travelled, etc).
The app also enables you to track it. Say you’ve forgotten your luggage at an airport; simply access your bag through the app to know its location – and even have Uber pick up your bag and deliver it to you.
You don’t have to worry about packing beyond your limit as the Bluesmart comes with a digital scale. Simply pull the handle of the luggage and the app will inform you if you’re good to go.
Keep your contents secure with the luggage’s digital lock, which you can share with the people you trust. If ever somebody happens to open the suitcase, the app will notify you.
The Bluesmart stands at 21.5 inches tall with a width of 14 inches and a depth of 9 inches. Thanks to the choice of light materials (such as aluminum and polycarbonate), the luggage only weights 8.5 lbs. and has a weight capacity of 34 liters. It also comes with a 10,000 mAh high capacity battery, which you can use to charge your phone via USB ports.
The app can operate on both Android and iOS devices. Available for at http://bluesmart.com/
