Get Your Twitter Account Moving and Gain Followers, Automatically Update Twitter/Facebook/LinkedIn

When you are new and trying to get your Twitter account started, it certainly feels like a chicken and egg situation. “How do I gain followers if I have nothing to provide?”

I recommend you establish yourself as an information source on a particular topic. You want to be known for a certain topic. For example, I have established myself as sharing links on technology and social media.

50 Million Users, Exponentially Easy During the Technological Era

50 Million Users, Exponentially Easy During the Technological Era

We live in exponential times! There were roughly one thousand devices connected to the Internet in 1984. Eight years later (1992) there were over a million. In 2009 this number was over a billion.

It took 38 years for 50 million people to have a radio. This was an amazing way to share information without having to read a newpaper. Then came TV which did it in 13 years. Over 50 million iPods sold in 3 years and Facebook took 2 years for their first 50 million users. Google’s “response” to Facebook is Google+ and they hit 50 million users in only 88 days.

Today if you want to learn about breaking news, you don’t turn on the radio or TV, you check out Twitter!

Where do you get the latest news from?

Days to 100 Million Views for YouTube Videos – How Much More Viral Can It Get?

Days to 100 Million Views for YouTube Videos – How Much More Viral Can It Get?

Unlike my post regarding the top YouTube videos by most views, there is another aspect which is how increasingly viral videos have become.

For the longest while, Charlie Bit My Finger Again was ranked number 1 YouTube video for views and managed to obtain over 100 million in 402 days.

Then came the age of music videos on YouTube. All of them becoming more and more viral. Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, and Lady Gaga have some of the most viral music videos ever. Bad Romance by Lady Gaga achieved 100 million views in only 18 days. Gangnam Style music video hit the 100 million mark within 51 days.

A major social media initiative was embarked upon by people worldwide with the Kony 2012 campaign and managed to achieved 100 million views in only 6 days! It even attracted a million comments during the campaign.

Lots of people experiment with videos and hope they go viral. This is easily demonstrated with the shear amount of new videos being uploaded every minute to YouTube.

We must not underestimate the power of social media. It has become an integral part of how we live. You want to learn how to do something, you “Google” it, add the word “YouTube” in your search phrase and there is likely a video demonstrating what to do.

Where is this all headed?

YouTube: It Keeps Growing and Growing and Growing…

YouTube: It Keeps Growing and Growing and Growing…

YouTube was created by three former PayPal employees in 2005. Only 18 months later, over 65,000 videos per day were being uploaded and it was bought by Google for 1.65 Billion dollars.

Within another year, in 2007, there were over 8 hours of video being uploaded every minute!

Crazy growth! But wait, it doesn’t stop there. In 2008, there were over 13 hours of video uploaded every minute. In 2009 over 1 day worth (24 hours) uploaded every minute.

1 day every minute?!?

Yet it still didn’t stop there. In 2010, over 35 hours every minute, in 2011 over 48 hours every minute, and in 2012, it hit over 72 hours of video every minute.

3 days every minute?!?

Can you imagine what the Google Empire must have to store, process, and make all of this content accessible?

It seems that the rate which uploads are occurring is still increasing with no visible sign of leveling off.
